How to Connect to a Windows VPS
Let's go through the steps you need to take after ordering a Windows server to gain access to it.
This method works for all Windows servers, whether it's Server, Home, or Pro versions, and regardless of the architecture.
The process is similar for Linux servers (How to Connect to a VPS on Linux), with the main difference being the connection client and protocol.
Step 1: Retrieving Connection Details
- Order your server from the Services page.
- Navigate to the VPS section and select the server you need.
- In the "Connection Parameters" section, you'll find the login, password, and IP address.
Step 2: Using an RDP Client
To connect to a Windows VPS, you'll use the RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol).
If you're on Windows 10, the RDP client is already installed by default.
Using the Default Client
- Type "Remote Desktop Connection" in the Windows search bar and select the app.
- Enter the IP address in the "Computer" field, type "Admin" in the "User name" field, and click "Connect."
- Then, enter your password and click "OK."
Now you’re connected to your VPS and can start working.
At this point, you can install any necessary software, configure the system to your liking, and use it for your specific needs.
You can also install any secure and convenient RDP client of your choice and use it instead of the default one.
Connecting from a Mobile Device
To connect to your VPS from a mobile device, you can use any mobile RDP client.
You can also use AnyDesk or TeamViewer. To do this, first connect to the server using the default RDP client and install your chosen remote access software on the server.
Afterward, install the same software on the device you'll be connecting from.
You can purchase a reliable Windows VPS by selecting one of the plans below (Basic or PRO), or by customizing your own plan.
